Connect Claude to your ioTORQ LEAN account to ask questions about your facilities, assets, downtime, maintenance metrics and changeovers directly from Claude.

Before you start

Before users can connect their LEAN accounts, an owner or administrator of your organization's Claude account must add the ioTORQ LEAN connector.

If you are a Claude owner or administrator: Follow For owners/admins: Add ioTORQ LEAN to Claude below.
If ioTORQ LEAN is already available in your organization's Claude connectors: Skip to For users: Connect your LEAN account.

Each user connects with their own LEAN account and can only access the LEAN information they are already authorized to see.

For owners/admins: Add ioTORQ LEAN to Claude

If you manage your organization's Claude account, add the ioTORQ LEAN connector once. Your team members can then connect with their individual LEAN accounts.

What you'll need

Your organization's LEAN MCP address. Take the address you normally use to open LEAN and add /mcp to the end.
For example: https://yourcompany.iotorq-lean.com/mcp

A Client ID and Client Secret from ioTORQ Support. LEAN only accepts connections from AI applications that ioTORQ has registered for your organization. Registering one is a one-time step per AI application.

1. Request your connection details

Contact ioTORQ Support at [email protected] and tell us:

That you want to connect Claude to ioTORQ LEAN
Your organization's LEAN address, for example https://yourcompany.iotorq-lean.com

We will send you a Client ID and a Client Secret for your organization.

Treat the Client Secret like a password: enter it only in Claude's connector settings, and do not share it in chats, emails or documents.

2. Add a custom connector

In Claude:

Open Settings.
Select Connectors.
Select Add.
Select Add custom connector.

3. Enter the LEAN connection details

Name: ioTORQ LEAN
Remote MCP server URL: https://yourcompany.iotorq-lean.com/mcp

Make sure the address:

Uses your organization's LEAN domain
Ends with /mcp
Starts with https://

Select Continue.

In the OAuth client settings, you will need to enter:

OAuth Client ID: the Client ID from ioTORQ Support
OAuth Client Secret: the Client Secret from ioTORQ Support

4. Sign in to LEAN

Claude will redirect you to LEAN. Sign in as you normally do, with your LEAN username and password or your organization's single sign-on (SSO). If your account uses multi-factor authentication, you will be asked for your code as usual.

5. Allow access

Review the requested access and select Authorize. The ioTORQ LEAN connector provides read-only access to supported LEAN data. It cannot change that data.

6. Confirm the connector

After you allow access, you'll be returned to Claude. Open ioTORQ LEAN under Connectors. Claude should list the tools available through the connection, such as retrieving your facilities and assets, asset status, maintenance metrics and changeovers.

The connector is now available to your organization. Each user must still connect with their own LEAN account. Users can only access information that their individual LEAN account is authorized to see.

For users: Connect your LEAN account

Once your Claude owner or administrator has added ioTORQ LEAN to your organization, you can connect your individual LEAN account. You do not need a Client ID or Client Secret for this.

1. Find the ioTORQ LEAN connector

In Claude:

Open Settings.
Select Connectors.
Find ioTORQ LEAN in the connector list.

2. Connect

Select Connect next to ioTORQ LEAN.

3. Sign in to LEAN

Claude will redirect you to LEAN. Sign in as you normally do, with your LEAN username and password or your organization's single sign-on (SSO), and your multi-factor authentication code if you use one. Your LEAN credentials are entered directly into LEAN; Claude never receives your password.

4. Allow access

Review the requested access and select Authorize. The connection provides read-only access to supported LEAN information, including:

Your facilities and their assets
What each asset is doing right now and the product it is running
Running time, downtime, equipment failures, MTTR and MTBF
Changeovers and how they compare with their targets

Claude cannot change this data through the ioTORQ LEAN connection.

You're connected

That's it. You can now use Claude with ioTORQ LEAN. Claude can only access the LEAN information that your individual LEAN account is permitted to see. Connecting Claude does not give you any additional permissions in LEAN.

Verify your connection

Once you've connected to ioTORQ LEAN, start a conversation in Claude and ask:

Which facilities can you see in ioTORQ LEAN?

Claude should return the facilities your LEAN account has access to.

If it does, your connection is working and you're ready to start asking questions about your LEAN data.

Tool permissions in Claude

The first time Claude uses an ioTORQ LEAN tool, it may ask for your permission before retrieving information. Select Allow once to approve that single request.

If your organization's policies allow it, you can select Always allow to let Claude use the tool without asking each time.

The ioTORQ LEAN tools available through this connection are read-only.

Disconnect ioTORQ LEAN

To remove the connection:

Open Settings → Connectors in Claude.
Open ioTORQ LEAN.
Select Disconnect.

Claude's access to your LEAN account stops once you disconnect. Disconnecting Claude does not change or delete anything in LEAN.

Troubleshooting

I can't find ioTORQ LEAN in Claude

If ioTORQ LEAN isn't listed under Connectors, it may not have been added to your Claude organization yet.

Ask your Claude owner or administrator to follow For owners/admins: Add ioTORQ LEAN to Claude above.
